Co-creating Group Agreements – Free Facilitation Download (with Whales!)
Co-create group agreements to create trust, build respect and clear expectations. Here’s a free Drawing Change resource – featuring my favourite whales – to support better meetings in 2025.
Whales are brilliant communicators across distance.
Orcas follow their matriarch.
And there’s wisdom in pods.
Creating group agreements asks people to name their needs, and for people to be accountable to each other. That’s a powerful process. Having shared expectations in our relationships provides a sense of security and helps us remain open to new ideas and change.

Instructions:
You can download a copy of this poster or add it to a powerpoint. Write in your own group agreements when you use this resource – write on it, or use post it notes. Revisit the list; it will grow and change with the group.
Here are three of my favourites:
- Together we know a lot. Honour that the group has wisdom, and the answers are in the room. Everyone has expertise.
- Take space, make space. Share the mic, share power. Ask encouraging questions and avoid assumptions.
- Connection before content. Prioritize relationships before launching into the work and transactions. We all want to be seen as whole, human beings.
Enjoy!
