Illustrated Vision Map for Stó:lō Nation Wellness
Pulling research and meetings together
CLIENT
Stó:lō Wellness Centre. The Stó:lō traditional territory extends from Yale to Langley, British Columbia.
PROJECT
Illustrated Vision Map. This illustration reflects the holistic approach to Aboriginal wellness at the Stó:lō Wellness Centre. The Vision Map is based on community input, and hangs in the Wellness Centre reception area/waiting room: Anyone in the waiting room can see the services at-a-glance, and add their ideas.
SOLUTION
I attended two sessions and provided graphic recording – listening and drawing to capture the ideas visually. At each session the team refined the content for what could be represented. I combined the drawings from the two meetings, added illustrations from my own primary research, and designed a section for participation.
RESULT
This Illustrated Vision Map weaves together a Stó:lō vision for wellness that includes land, history, services, and culture.
