UBC Education Alumni event graphic recording

UBC Education Alumni invited graphic recording to an event, and boy, do I want to be painting every day when I’m 92 years old. I have new inspiration in legendary art educator, Gordon Smith.  In May, he gave a speech at his gallery in North Vancouver for UBC Education Alumni. “Art is to do everything as well as possible,” he said. “It is the art of living.” Right? Right!

I was pleased to support this event with graphic recording. Dean Frank updated the room on strategic priorities and the new Education Centre at Ponderosa Commons. I visually recorded during the keynotes and engaged with alumni afterwards, asking them questions and drawing their responses. It was a fun and engaging way to get feedback about the new Centre.
