Someone asked me last week what I do for fun when I’m not drawing at work.
Um, more drawing.
Recently I’ve been inspired by Chandler O’Leary’s Drawn the Road travel project… so I brought my sketchbook to a bar in northern Ontario. (Trust me, it was worth it.)
If you’re in Sudbury, Ontario, you have to go to porketta bingo at the Beef and Bird. You have to get in before noon on a Saturday – it’s a packed house. To play, you get 3 laminated playing cards. If the caller calls your cards first- then you win a plate of porketta. Can’t buy it, you have to win it. The money goes to minor hockey, and the original owner played for the Bruins.

Here’s some other quick sketches from the trip.
