My favorite work event this week was the Bronze Quill Awards of the International Association of Business Communicators (BC). The Bronze Quill Awards recognize and celebrate the best of business communicators in BC. I was invited to be a graphic recorder during the ceremony to bring a new visual experience to the event and IABC/BC members.

Working in a room of professional communicators being recognized for their exceptional work is an added challenge. Every day, IABC members innovate ways of telling stories for their clients and organizations. They’re tasked with increasing engagement, managing multi-audience communication, demonstrating communication management, and problem-solving in many other areas. From board rooms to conferences, graphic recording supports their professional work in each of these areas – so it was fun for me to support their success and add value to their IABC/BC event with visuals.

As the winners were announced, I captured each story visually and synthesized the benefits that IABC/BC members value in the organization. And along with everyone else, I was in stitches by MC Rob Cottingham.
